The Queen of Questions

What If God Isn’t Who You Think He Is…

and neither are you?

This is the question on the front of the new book by John Lynch, Bruce McNicol and Bill Thrall.

Authors of the ground breaking Bo’s Cafe ,The Cure takes a fresh conversational look at who God is and who we are.

About 25 years ago I started examining what I believed because it was what I had been taught and what the Bible actually says. I found a lot of things didn’t match up. About that time I was introduced to Kay Arthur and began systematically asking questions. Eight years ago I was introduced to a ministry out of Colorado and through it to an amazing group of people who have become close friends even from great distances.

It was through one of these friends I was introduced to John Lynch and the challenging questions the Truefaced Ministry was encouraging believers to ask for themselves. I’ve read all of their books and listened to many of the podcasts. They don’t offer answers as much as they offer and encourage good questions.

So today I’m asking their question…”What if God isn’t who you think He is and neither are you?” How much would that change your life? Are you open to even considering the question?

  1. A few years ago I read a fictional book that helped me to re-examine who God can be in our lives if we allow Him to be who need Him to be.
It challenged my perceptions. It challenged the boxes that I had put God in. I truly believe that until we meet God face to face that we are unable to grasp with our finite minds who God truly is and what He is capable of, what He wants to do. On that day we will finally be filled with the knowledge and it will make us all fall on our faces.
I still believe that I need to seek God with all my heart, and learn who He is and who He can be, at least as much as I can in this time of my life now.
I also don’t think that we can grasp who we are meant to be, not fully, because we have sin that blocks us from that. But again, I know that we will experience someday. When we are freed from the trappings of our minds and bodies! Oh what a day that will be!

    1. Which book did you read? I’m always on the alert for good books!

      1. It was the highly controversial “The Shack”. I had some friends who were angry at me for recommending it. I even had one who believed that she would burn her copy. That is how strongly she felt about it. But where I was in my life it really opened my eyes to how much I was limiting God in my life.

        1. I read that one too. Lots to think about and consider especially about judgement and forgiveness. I think you would really like The Cure.

          1. It sounds like a great one and I will add it to my wish list for Kindle. I have a few books that I am working through now and it sounds like this one needs to be added to the list. Someone just recommended “Not A Fan” to add to my list also. Is that one you have read?
